Are you a teacher looking to learn more about Parliament, governance and citizenship?
Applications are now open for the 22nd edition of the Teachers Institute on Canadian Parliamentary Democracy, a professional development opportunity for educators which this year will be held Nov. 4-9.
The Teachers Institute brings together 85 participants from across Canada who spend the week getting an in-depth view of the Hill.
It is hosted by the Speakers of the Senate and the House of Commons and is organized by the Library of Parliament.
While there is a $500 program fee, travel, accommodation and most meals are covered.
Applications are being accepted until April 15. Participants are selected by a committee of their peers and based on teaching excellence and involvement in professional or curriculum development activities.
Visit www.parl.gc.ca/teachers for more details about the program and to apply online.
